10 Characteristics of a Healthy Relationship
If you’re in love and unsure if your relationship has what it takes to go the distance, here are 10 things to look for in ANY healthy relationship.
1.) A sense of being your partners best friend, because being best friends is the best, duh!
2.) Respect. It’s a two way street, y’all.
3.) Love that feels like a warm blanket or a tight, supportive hug.
4.) Arguments that result in compromise or an outcome you both can agree with respectfully. No abuse of any kind. Ever.
5.) There’s open, honest, sometimes frank communication about everything and anything, with no judgment or side eyes–– unless they’re fun side eyes. See #1.
6.) Trust. You have a sense of security. There is confidence for both parties to do the right thing, not cheat, or put your finances at risk.
7.) Sex is on fire! Maybe not all the time, but there’s still something spicy between you even outside of the bedroom. Not that sex is limited only to that room!
8.) Sense of self is still present in both parties. You still have your life and they have theirs, but you share this new life together supporting each other through it all.
9.) You can be your unique self and they can be the same. They pull out the best versions of who you are while growing into the person you were meant to become. And you do the same for them.
10.) There’s respect, maybe even love, for the other important people in your partner’s life and the other way around.
