Moving Meditation

I’ve worked with a lot of clients that are interested in incorporating meditation into their daily lives. If they are anything like me, they struggle. Heck, most people struggle with it because, let’s face it, it’s flat out boring.

So what are we to do?

Instead of asking my clients if they are exercising (a loaded question for anyone), I ask if they move their body. That way it opens the door for discussion instead of shame or worse.

Once we’ve established that they have some way of moving, we talk about adding mindful meditation. That is staying present, focusing on breath, or asking a higher power (really anything they define as a spiritual equivalent) a question/help with a concern.

Taking the pressure off helps establish a connection and allows for the client to do something they may have already been doing––just doing it more mindfully.

What do you think? Is this something you could do? Check out my video where I dig into some ideas and a challenge for you to add it to your daily self-care.

I challenge you…
